Trailer: Director's Commentary Worded
Hello and welcome to the director’s commentary of my film trailer called Thorn.
Before the trailer starts my company logo appears with the sound of a ticking clock in the background resembling what the company is called aka clockwork productions.
To start with I have used a technique in which a question has been asked before the trailer has started, this gets the audience involved straight away.
The first shot shows how the victim has already met his killer without him suspecting it.
Then I have used several still shots to shot how the victim progresses into growing danger as the trailer gets closer to its climax.
In between these still shots I have used a pan shot from behind a tree to show the effect of the victim being watched.
Several long shots have been used to show the victims increasing danger. This includes two shots in which the victim has turned around wondering whether he is being followed. At this point the audience know something is wrong.
I have used a long shot which is also a two shot in which the audience can see the killer when the victim can’t.
Near the end of my trailer, I have made the tempo a lot quicker by using clips from footage already seen within the trailer but playing them much quicker. This means that much more clips are shown within a shorter amount of time.
In the middle of this there is a chase shot in which the camera acts as the killers eyes and this helps to put the audience in the killers shoes feeling sorry for the victim.
The trailer ends with a shot that shows part of the killer from behind with the victim lying dead on the floor. This makes the audience wondering what has happened and at this point the trailer ends.

Film Magazine Title
To go with my film trailer, I also have to produce a film magazine cover that promotes my film 'Thorn'. Below are 6 choices of names and I will pick one to be the title of my film magazine. To decide which will be the title for my film magazine, I asked 20 people from my target audience which best suited my film.
1) Coming Soon
2) Front Row
3) FFF (First For Films)
4) Big Seller
5) Movie Mag
6) Word Of Mouth
From the 20 people that I asked which title they thought was the best for my film magazine, 'Big Seller' and 'Movie Mag' came last with no votes, whilst 'Coming Soon' came fourth with only 2 votes. in third place came 'Front Row' with 4 votes, with 'Word Of Mouth' coming second with 5 votes. But in first place came 'FFF' with 9 votes; hence this title was more popular than the rest and because of this, 'FFF' will be the title of my film magazine.
